2026 Boys Golf Varsity State Championship

A Varsity team must be comprised of boys in 7th to 12th grade (Graduating classes of 2026 to 2031) who will have participated in a minimum of three*, 9-hole high school matches during the current 2026 season prior to April 27.  Team members must be presently homeschooling and eligible based on current 2025-2026 NCHEAC Athlete Eligibility guidelines.  Teams must have competed together as a team in a minimum of three, 9-hole high school matches prior to this championship to be considered a “team”. 

*18-hole rounds count as two (2) 9-hole matches. 

Each team may be represented by five players and must return four individual 18-hole scores to qualify for the team competition.  The State Championship at Longleaf Golf and Family Club will be ~ 6,500 yards.  Team cost for the State Championship is anticipated to be $200 to $300.  Registration process and task dates for the State Championship will be in April.  Exact dates will be provided at a later date. 

Individuals must be presently homeschooling and eligible based on current 2025-2026 NCHEAC Athlete Eligibility guidelines.  Individuals and those on a team must not have reached their 19th birthday before August 1.  For an individual to qualify for the State Championship, that individual must have a 18-hole scoring average of 90 or less based on ~ 6,500 yards.  That average is based on three scorecards attested and signed by an adult which are emailed to the Tournament Director before April 15.  Details on that process will be provided at a later date.   Individual cost for the State Championship is anticipated to be $35 to $50.
